STATE STREET RESEARCH SUPPORTS HOFFA AWARDS DINNER



BOSTON, MA, March 2, 2001- State Street Research extends its congratulationsto James P. Hoffa, General President, International Brotherhood ofTeamsters, for receiving the "Labor Man of the Year Award" presented by theBay Area Union Labor Party.

The Bay Area Union Labor Party is honoring Hoffa for his work in bringingunity, pride and strength to the Teamsters since taking office in 1999.Under his leadership, union membership has increased and the union budget isbalanced for the first time in nearly ten years. In recognition of thishonor, several representatives from State Street Research will attend theawards dinner in San Francisco on March 3. The firm also purchased atwo-page advertisement in the program book commemorating this auspiciousevent.
